Cuthbert Sebastian

Sir Cuthbert Sebastian Montraville GCMG, OBE ( born October 22, 1921) from 1996 to 2013, the Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Life

He studied at the two Canadian colleges Mount Allison University in Sackville and Dalhousie University in Halifax ( Nova Scotia ) to be a surgeon. Between 1980 and 1983 he was Chief Medical Officer of St. Kitts and Nevis. In 1995 he was appointed Governor-General and sworn in on 1 January 1996. Sebastian was awarded an honorary doctorate from Dalhousie University in 1998. On 25 December 2012, he announced his resignation from the office of the Governor General on January 1, 2013.

At the end of his term in office Sebastian was the oldest reigning sovereign or head of government in the world.
