Czarnocin, Opole Voivodeship

Scharnosin (Polish Czarnocin, in the local Polish- Silesian dialect Czarnożyniy ) is a village in the bilingual community Leschnitz ( Leśnica ) in the powiat Strzelecki of the Opole Voivodeship.

Geography

Scharnosin is located approximately 35 kilometers southeast of Opole and 5 kilometers northeast of Leschnitz to the valley slopes of the steering Auer water ( Łącka Woda ). In the vicinity are the Buchenwald and sources. The area surrounding the village is known as Silesian Switzerland.

History

The village Scharnosin was first mentioned in 1485 as Czarnozeme. Later church documents from the 17th century, call it Czarnozenie and Czanozenie. Scharnosin belonged to the parish Leschnitz. 1783 Scharnosin belonged to Count Colonna. In the place name in Silesia from 1845 Scharnosin was mentioned as Czarnosin and polish as Czarnosień. In the village there were at this time four mills and a distillery. 1861 practiced eleven people from a craft. There was an inn.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on 20 March 1921 which was accompanied in the area of civil wars, voted 115 people to remain in Germany and 117 for Poland. Scharnosin but remained as the entire voting district wholesale Strehlitz the German Reich.

1945 was the place as Czarnocin to Poland.

2006 introduced the community Leschnitz, the Scharnosin belongs to a district, as an auxiliary language, and German in 2008 bilingual place names.
