Czech regional elections, 2012

The regional elections in the Czech Republic in 2012 took place on 12 and 13 October 2012. In this case, all regional parliaments were elected to the thirteen Krajs (regions).

Starting position

In the elections of 2008, the social democratic CSSD was the strongest party. She put in all thirteen regions of the HEJTMAN ( Governor ). The conservative ODS suffered heavy losses and lost in one fell swoop all of their twelve Hejtmens. The Communist KSCM and the Christian Democratic KDU -CSL lost easily. The latter also lost her only doing HEJTMAN.

Result

The CSSD was in nine of the thirteen regions of strongest party. The KSČM was divided into two regions number one, the ODS now in a. In the Liberec Region, the party was mayor for Liberec ( TOP 09 related parties ) are strongest. In most regions, a majority for a left coalition of CSSD and KSČM was available, so that the ODS had the opposition in all regions.
