D-Rad

The German industry Werke AG was a German manufacturer of locomotives, railroad cars, motorcycles and automobiles. She was based in Berlin -Spandau.

History

The German Werke AG, emerged end of the First World War from the Army workshops and yards of the German Empire, had its headquarters in Berlin, even if the shipyard was still in Kiel. All activities that had nothing to do with the ship, were also summarized in Berlin.

1924 was the renaming of the Berlin Group parts in German Motor Works AG. Finally, the company was called German industry Werke AG.

1922 started the vehicle with the production of motorcycles under the brand name D- wheel. 1925-1926 also automobiles were built under the name of D-type trailers. 1926 from the automotive division initially an assembly plant of the U.S. brand Durant. 1927 DKW leased the plant for the production of their automobiles from 1928. 1932, the motorcycle has been set. 1933 purchased the Auto Union now founded on the work.

D -Rad

From 1922 to August 1932 about 60,000 bikes of the brand D -Rad were built in Spandau. The most popular models were Star, M -23, M24, RO / 4, RO / 5, RO / 6, R -9, R-10, R -11 and R- 20th

The M -23 had a 2- cylinder boxer engine with 3 HP, from RO / 4 there was a 1- cylinder engine with 500 cc and 8 hp. The R 1/4 had 12 hp, the R-10 about 20 hp. The D- wheel R -20 was " tax-free class " with a 200 cc big one - cylinder two-stroke engine that made ​​about 6 hp specifically designed for the then (1931 ). D- cars

In the fall of 1924 a 5/25-PS-Wagen was presented at the Berlin Motor Show. The production of the four-seater, four-door touring car began in 1925 in Spandau. The vehicle was equipped with a four-cylinder engine ( 18.3 kW) drew from 1.3 liters engine capacity a power output of 25 hp.
