DÄ…bkowo

Dąbkowo ( German Schoenaich ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. It belongs to the rural community Godkowo ( Göttchendorf ) in Elblaski powiat ( county Elbing ).

Geographical location

Dąbkowo lies west of the Passarge (Polish: Pasłęka ) near a side street that connects Dobry ( Döbern ) with Łępno ( Lomp ). Until the former county town Pasłęk ( Prussian Holland ) there are 21 km, up to the present county metropolis Elbląg ( Elbing ) 34 km. By 1945, consisted of the station Döbern following the railway line from Schlobitten (now Polish: Słobity ) about Wormditt ( Orneta ) to Rastenburg ( Kętrzyn ) and Angerburg ( Węgorzewo ).

History

The small until 1945 Schoenaich called village was in 1874 at the newly established District Döbern (now Polish: Dobry ) incorporated, which it was until 1945 assigned and thus belonged to the circle Prussian Holland in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. In 1910 146 residents were registered in Schoenaich. Their number was 1933, 133 and amounted in 1939 to 146

In 1945 Schoenaich came in consequence of the war with Poland and received the Polish name " Dąbkowo ". Today it is a village in the composite of Gmina Godkowo in powiat Elblaski and belongs since 1998 to the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, previously the province of Elbląg.

Protestant

Before 1945, the population was predominantly Protestant denomination Beautifully Aichs. The village was in the parish Döbern (now Polish: Dobry ) and belonged to the parish church circle Prussian Holland ( Pasłęk ) in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union. Today Dąbkowo belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pasłęk ( Prussian Holland), a branch church of the parish in Ostróda ( Osterode ) in the Diocese of the Evangelical - Augsburg Church Mazury in Poland.

Catholic

The pre-1945 living in Schoenaich few Catholics belonged to the diocese of Warmia. Today the vast majority of the population is Catholic Dąbkowo. The village now belongs to the parish in Wilczęta ( Poprad ) within the Deanery in the Diocese of Elbląg Pasłęk I of the Roman Catholic Church in Poland.
