Dagfinn Føllesdal

( Also written Follesdal ) Dagfinn Follesdal ( born June 22, 1932 in Askim, Norway) is Professor of Philosophy at Stanford University and Professor Emeritus at the University of Oslo. In 2006 he received the Lauener price for analytic philosophy.

Follesdal has numerous partly acclaimed contributions made ​​on topics of philosophy of language, phenomenology, existentialism, and hermeneutics. Many of his works take both contemporary systematic analytical debates, and reconstruct the other hand positions continental classics, va the aforementioned schools.

Follesdal et al studied at Harvard at Willard Van Orman Quine.
