Dağpazarı

Dağ Pazarı (or Dağpazarı, formerly Kestel ) is a city in Cilicia, in present-day Turkey and located 33 km north-east of courage and 48 km south-east of Karaman at about 1400 m altitude.

The village lies on the site of an ancient city, whose name was probably Koropissos. In the Tabula Peutingeriana he is listed as Coriopio on the road between Iconium and Seleucia on Calycadnus. Their status as polis is evident from an inscription from the time of Pertinax. In late antiquity, the city was the seat of a bishopric.

After three sides of the site is protected by the falling slopes to the river Kavak gözü out the north side is secured by a city wall. Within the city limits remains of colonnaded streets, houses and cisterns are identifiable. Three church buildings have been preserved: Before the city a grave church is extra muros, in the city of a poorly preserved three-aisled basilica with a baptistery, perhaps the bishop's church, and a still high upright domed church with handling. From the south an aqueduct brought water into the city. To the north lie the flat terrain the remains of the Hippodrome.
