Wagner was during his high school years as one of the most talented basketball players in the country. During a game of his high school, he scored 100 points. Professional career

When NBA Draft 2002 Wagner was selected to 6 out of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his rookie season he scored a respectable 13.4 points per game, but he hit just under 37% from the field. The following two seasons ran but not well. Wagner completed in its third year, due to numerous injuries, only 11 regular season games, scoring 4.0 points per game. For this reason his contract was not renewed in Cleveland.

A year passed before he could fully recovering from his injuries. 2006 again he managed a comeback at the Golden State Warriors. However, he completed only one game before he was bought out the contract. In 2007 he signed a contract with the Polish first division club Asseco Prokom Gdynia, for which he was active until 2008.
