Dalil Boubakeur

Dalil Boubakeur (also: Dalil Bu -Bakr, born November 2, 1940 in Ville Philippe, today Skikda in northeastern Algeria) is a high Islamic dignitaries in France. Currently (2011) he is rector of the Grande Mosquée de Paris. From 2003-2008 he was the first chairman of the Islamic umbrella organization Conseil français du culte musulman.

Boubakeur applies - in addition to the Imam Hassen Chalghoumi in Drancy near Paris and the Mufti Soheib Bencheikh from Marseille - as a representative of the "liberal" secular Islam in Europe.
