The Dan River (Hebrew דן dan, Arabic اللدان, DMG al - Liddān ) is next Hazbani and Banyas one of the three sources of the Jordan.

The source of Dan is with a mean annual bed of 240 million cubic meters of the largest karst spring in the Middle East. Until 1967, the Dan - source was the only source of the Jordan on Israeli territory. Since the internationally unrecognized annexation of the Golan Heights and the expansion of the Northern District and the Banyas source of Israel is controlled.

The Dan itself is only about 20 miles long and connects the north end of the Huleebene with Hazbani and Banyas to Jordan.

Due to the abundance of water could develop a luxuriant vegetation in the vicinity of the source and the river; the area is a nature reserve today.

Immediately at the source is the Tel Dan excavations of the ancient city of Dan; located near the kibbutz also Dan.
