Ndana ( Dana, Nieuw Eiland, Hokki ) is an Indonesian island located southwest of Sawu and Raijua ( Small Sunda ).
Geography
Ndana part of the kabupaten ( administrative district) Sawu Raijua in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. According to the definition of the International Hydrographic Organization ( IHO ) Ndana ( Dana ) is a corner point of the boundary between Savu Sea and the Indian Ocean.
Fauna
On the island live feral sheep and goats.
Cultural Significance
The otherwise uninhabited island is visited once a year by the inhabitants of the islands Sawu and Raijua for a ritual ceremony. The Sawunesen believe that the spirits of the dead live on Ndana, which is why the island is otherwise not enter if you occasional visits by tourists disregards.
