Danbury is a settlement on community- free area in Burnett County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. For statistical purposes, the place has been combined to form a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010 Danbury had 172 inhabitants.

Geography

Danbury is located in northwestern Wisconsin, at the mouth of the Yellow River in the St. Croix River. This forms the border with Minnesota and flows into the Mississippi. The geographical coordinates of Danbury 46 ° 00'22 " north latitude and 92 ° 22'16 " west longitude. The site covers an area of 3.27 km ². Danbury is the only settlement within the Town of Swiss.

The nearest major cities are Duluth on Lake Superior in Minnesota (99.5 km to the north ), Eau Claire (191 km southeast) and the Twin Cities in Minnesota (172 km south-southwest ).

Traffic

In Danbury, the Wisconsin State Highways 35 and 77 meet together. All other roads are minor roads, some unpaved roadways and within local roads.

In Danbury is the northern endpoint of the Gandy Dancer State Trail. It is a rail trail designated as a combined walking and bicycle path on the route of a disused railway line. The name of the path goes back to the slang word Gandy Dancer, making a railway worker was called.

With the Burnett County Airport is located 21.6 km south a small airfield. The nearest major airport is the Minneapolis -Saint Paul International Airport (180 km south-southwest ).

According to the census in 2010 lived in Danbury 172 people in 81 households. The population density was 52.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. In the 81 households lived statistically 2.12 per person.
