Daniel Dolan

Daniel Lytle Dolan ( born May 28, 1951 in Detroit ) is an American sedisvakantistischer Catholic bishop.

Life

Dolan studied from 1965 at the diocesan seminary in Detroit before he entered the Cistercian Order, and later at the seminary of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X ( SSPX ) in the Swiss Ecône further studied, where he was ordained by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre on June 29, 1976 for the priest. Even in the seminary of Ecône he came in the fall of 1973 to the conclusion that the only explanation for the liturgical reform and the heresies of Vatican II argues, is that Pope Paul VI. could not have been a pope. Therefore, since he represented the view of the sedevacantism in view of Paul VI. and his successor.

After he returned to the United States in 1977, he founded more than 35 traditionalist measuring centers for the Fraternity. In early 1983, Dolan was expelled from the SSPX. Father Dolan continued his work at his home church in West Chester, a suburb of Cincinnati in Ohio.

On November 30, 1993, he was ordained by Bishop Mark Pivarūnas of the Congregation of Mary Immaculate Queen to bishop.

Bishop Dolan has since worked in the church of Cincinnati as well as in traditionalist communities in the United States, Mexico and Europe.
