Daniel E. Flores

Daniel Ernest Flores ( born August 28, 1961 in Palacios ) is an American clergyman and bishop of Brownsville.

Life

The Bishop of Corpus Christi, Rene Henry Gracida, ordained him priest on 30 January 1988.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 28 October 2006 as Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit and Titular Bishop of Cozyla. The Archbishop of Detroit, Adam Joseph Cardinal Maida, donated to him on November 29th of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were René Henry Gracida, Bishop Emeritus of Corpus Christi, and Edmond Carmody, Bishop of Corpus Christi. As a motto he chose verb Mittitur spirant Amorem.

On 9 December 2009 he was appointed bishop of Brownsville and introduced into the office on 2 February of next year.
