Roman Catholic Diocese of Corpus Christi
The Diocese of Corpus Christi (Latin: Dioecesis Corporis Christi ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Corpus Christi, Texas.
History
The Diocese of Corpus Christi was born on August 28, 1874 by Pope Pius IX. out of territory of the Diocese of Galveston established as Apostolic Vicariate of Brownsville. On 23 March 1912, the Vicariate Apostolic of Brownsville was elevated by Pope Pius X to the diocese and renamed the Diocese of Corpus Christi. It was the Archdiocese of San Antonio is a suffragan. The Diocese of Corpus Christi announced on July 10, 1965 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Brownsville. Other annexations took place on 13 April 1982 founding of the Diocese of Victoria in Texas and on 3 July 2000 establishing the bishopric of Laredo. On December 29, 2004, the Diocese of Brownsville was the Archdiocese Galveston - Houston is a suffragan.

The Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas located encompasses the areas of Aransas County, Bee County, Brooks County, Duval County, Jim Wells County, Kenedy County, Kleberg County, Live Oak County, Nueces County, Refugio County and San Patricio County.
