The Diocese of Springfield (Latin: Dioecesis Campifontis ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Springfield, Massachusetts.

History

The Diocese of Springfield was born on June 14, 1870 by Pope Pius IX. built with the Apostolic Constitution Ex commissi Nobis from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Boston. It was the Archdiocese of Boston, is a suffragan. On 14 January 1950, the Diocese of Springfield were parts of its territory from the foundation of the diocese Worcester.
