Roman Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City

The Diocese of Salt Lake City (Latin: Dioecesis Civitatis Salsi Lacus ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

History

The Diocese of Salt Lake City was built in 1887 by Pope Leo XIII. out of territory of the Archdiocese of San Francisco established as Apostolic Vicariate of Utah. The Apostolic Vicariate of Utah was posted on January 27, 1891 by Leo XIII. raised to the bishopric and renamed diocese Salt Lake. It was the Archdiocese of San Francisco, is a suffragan. On March 27, 1931, the Diocese of Salt Lake were from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Reno -Las Vegas. The Diocese of Salt Lake was renamed on 31 March 1951 in Diocese of Salt Lake City.
