Roman Catholic Diocese of Baker

The Diocese of Baker (Latin: Dioecesis Bakeriensis ) is a location in Oregon in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Baker.

History

Pope Leo XIII. founded the bishopric of Baker City on June 19, 1903 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Oregon City, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

On February 16, 1952, adopted the current name.

The diocese covers the Counties Baker Wasco, Klamath, Lake, Sherman, Gilliam, Wheeler, Morrow, Grant, Union, Crook, Umatilla, Wallowa, Baker, Harney and Malheur of the State of Oregon.
