Roman Catholic Diocese of Las Cruces

The Diocese of Las Cruces (Latin: Dioecesis Las Cruces ) is a located in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Las Cruces, New Mexico. It includes the nine counties of Hidalgo, Grant, Luna, Sierra, Doña Ana, Otero, Lincoln, Chaves, Eddy and Lea of the State of New Mexico.

History

Pope John Paul II founded on August 17, 1982 cessions of territory of the Diocese of El Paso and of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, where it was assumed as a suffragan.
