Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro

The Diocese of Owensboro (Latin: Dioecesis Owensburgensis ) is located in Kentucky in the United States Roman Catholic diocese based in Owensboro.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Universi Catholici on 9 December 1937 cession of territory of the Archdiocese of Louisville, where it was assumed as a suffragan.

The Diocese of Owensboro includes the counties of Allen, Ballard, Breckinridge, Butler, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Edmonson, Fulton, Graves, Grayson, Hancock, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Logan, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, Muhlenberg, McLean, Ohio, Simpson, Todd, Trigg, Union, Warren and Webster of the State of Kentucky.
