Francis Ridgley Cotton
Francis Ridgley Cotton (born 19 September 1895 in Bardstown, Kentucky, USA, † September 25, 1960 ) was Bishop of Owensboro.
Life
Francis Ridgley Cotton received on June 17, 1920, the sacrament of Holy Orders.
On December 16, 1937, he was named by Pope Pius XI. the first bishop of the newly established Diocese of Owensboro. The Archbishop of Louisville, John Alexander Floersh, donated to him on 24 February 1938, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Trenton, Moses Elias Kiley, and the Bishop of Superior, Theodore Mary Reverman.
