Daniel Hugunin, Jr.

Daniel Hugunin junior ( born February 6, 1790 at Montgomery County, New York, † June 21, 1850 in Kenosha, Wisconsin ) was an American politician. Between 1825 and 1827 he represented the State of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Daniel Hugunin junior was born about seven years after the end of the American War of Independence in Montgomery County. He studied Classical Studies. Hugunin served during the British - American War.

As a result of fragmentation of the Democratic-Republican Party before and during the presidency of John Quincy Adams (1825-1829), he joined the Adams Group. In the congressional elections of 1824 for the 19th Congress Egbert Ten Eyck was in the 20th electoral district of New York in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Nicoll Fosdick on March 4, 1825. Hugunin has successfully challenged the election of Ten Eyck. He served in Congress on 15 December 1825 until his resignation on March 3, 1827.

On March 15, 1841, he was appointed Marshal for the Wisconsin Territory. He died on June 21, 1850 in Kenosha and was then buried in the Green Ridge Cemetery.
