Daniel Kowalski

Daniel Steven Kowalski ( born July 2, 1975 in Singapore) is an Australian swimmer.

Career

At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta he won the silver medal at the 1500 -meter freestyle track as well as two bronze medals at the 200 meters and 400 meters freestyle track. At the Olympic Summer Games 2000 in Sydney four years later he won the gold medal in the 4 × 200 meter freestyle swimming. Addition to his success at the Summer Olympics he won several medals at the World Swimming Championships and Commonwealth Games. After the end of his active career as a swimmer, which he announced on 8 May 2002, Kowalski studied sports management at Bond University. Kowalski graduated in 2003 and got a job as a swimming coach at the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 2007. Kowalski lives openly homosexual in Australia.
