Daniel Prévost

Daniel Prévost ( born October 20, 1939 in Garches, Paris) is a French author, and theater and film actor.

Life

Prévost was born in 1939 in the Parisian district of Garches in a working class family. However, he grew up without a father. Only at the age of 35 he learned of a moribund aunt that his father was a Kabyle and he thus came from a Berber people of Algeria. As a child he wrote poetry to cope with the death of his grandmother. After three years of studies at the École de la rue Blanche, one of three national drama schools in France, he was frequently seen in the 1960s, on the stage in plays of Molière. When he appeared in Robert Rocca Un certain monsieur Blot 1964, he met the director Jean Yanne and the actor Michel Serrault, with whom he later worked together on several occasions. In 1966, he first stood in front of the film camera. Since then, he joined more than 70 movies mostly on in comedic supporting roles. He is best known, however, rapporteur by the satirical show Le Petit on French television ( 1975-1976 ).

In 1985 he wrote the first of several partly autobiographical books with Coco belles - nattes. In 1995 Le Pont de la révolte, 1998 Le Passé sous silence. He also wrote plays such as Vite une femme and Sodome et Virginie. For his first major dramatic role in the film adaptation Uranus (1991 ) on the side of Gérard Depardieu and Philippe Noiret he was nominated for a César Award for Best Supporting Actor, which he, however, only in 1999 for the film comedy The Dinner Game (Le Dîner de cons) could win.

His Danish wife Jette, a dancer, he had The Imaginary Invalid in Denmark met at the age of 21 years at a theater production of Molière died on 19 March 2007. From the combination of the three sons Sören, Christophe and Erling went out. In 2008, Prévost was in Federico to see l' Espagne et moi, directed by his son Erling on stage.
