The Daniel Z. Romualdez ( Tacloban ) Airport ( ICAO code: RPVA, IATA Code: TAC) is a Philippine airport in the province of Leyte, on the same island in the Eastern Visayas region. The airport is located on a headland at the eastern end of the Bay of Cancabato about three kilometers east of the center of Tacloban City.

The airport is from the Philippine Civil Aviation Authority (Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines ) and domestic airport is Class 1 Principal Airport classified.

Is named the airport after Daniel Zialcita Romualdez, a former Speaker of the Philippine House of Representatives and relatives of Imelda Marcos.

During the Second World War the airport from late 1944 to 1945 served as a base for the U.S. Air Force.

Typhoon 2013

On November 8, 2013 met the Typhoon Haiyan the Philippines and heavily damaged the airport building. On 11 November 2013, the airport was partially reopened for flights. Air travel is from sunrise to sunset limited to military flights, rescue and relief flights, and flights for authorized government representatives, limited commercial flights and helicopter flights. It can be handled on the ground at most two machines simultaneously. Landing permits are not granted as long as two aircraft are on the ground. The maximum permissible service life of the floor is one hour. These restrictions are expected until 30 November 2013.
