Danijel Ljuboja ( Serbian Cyrillic Данијел Љубоја; born September 4, 1978 in Vinkovci, Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player at the position of the striker, alternatively, as "hanging top."

Ljuboja has both the Serbian and French citizenship.

Career

His first club was NK Dinamo Vinkovci, then went to NK Osijek. His next stops were Red Star Belgrade, FC Sochaux, Racing Strasbourg and Paris St. Germain.

With Strasbourg and Paris, he had celebrated his greatest successes so far: French Cup winner with Racing Strasbourg and French runners- up with Paris St. Germain.

From 2005 to 2006 he was in the squad of VfB Stuttgart. He was initially borrowed only from Paris St Germain, but the option to buy the player was exercised in the spring of 2006 and is committed until 2009.

Ljuboja demanded in summer despite a valid contract doubling his salary from VfB. The club presented him then in the summer of 2006 as a punishment of the professional team free Ljuboja had to train with the second team from the Regional League, although he was not entitled to use there.

End of August 2006 he was loaned for a year at Hamburger SV, this had an option to buy. After Ljuboja early February did not perceive several team appointments, he was demoted by coach Huub Stevens for a week for the amateur team of HSV. After he continued to not strained in training, he was banished to the end of season from the 1st team and then had to play in the Regionalliga. Since Ljuboja had signed up to the beginning of the season 2007/ 08 in any new club, he coached since 1 July 2007, at the 2nd team of VfB Stuttgart. In January 2008 Ljuboja trained to sample at VfL Wolfsburg, with whom he also flew to the training camp. Matchday 25 in the Bundesliga season 2007/ 08 he scored in the home match of VfL Wolfsburg against his former club, Hamburger SV, his first competitive goal for the Wolves. On July 23, 2009, he joined the French first division side Grenoble Foot and played 34 of 38 league games in which he scored 10 goals; the descent into the second league he could not turn with the team. The following season Ljuboja played at Premier League rivals OGC Nice with which he could keep up with 17th place (out of 20) the league.

For the season 2011/12 he moved to the Polish first division club Legia Warsaw for which he 7 August 2011 (2nd Round ) debuted in a 3-1 win in the away match against Cracovia Krakow and the following Round (August 12 ) in the 3-1 victory at home against Gornik Zabrze scored his first two league goals.

On July 20 Ljuboja announced the signing of a one-year contract with French Ligue 2 - known division club RC Lens.

National

Danijel Ljuboja 2003 was first used in qualifying for Euro 2004 by coach Dejan Savićević in the Serbian- Montenegrin national team; in the 2-2 draw in Podgorica against Azerbaijan, he came in the 71st minute for Predrag Mijatovic on the field. His first and only goal in the national team he reached on 11 October of the year, also in the European Championship qualifiers. In the 3-2 win against Wales in Cardiff, he scored eight minutes after coming off the bench in the 87th minute, the third goal of the Serbs and Montenegrins. Ilija Petković appointed him in 2006 to the squad for the World Cup, where he appeared as a substitute in two group matches.
