Danny Fields

Danny Fields ( born 1941 in New York City ) is an American music manager. He is known for his influence on the emergence of punk. He managed, among other MC5, The Stooges, The Ramones, Steve Forbert, Jonathan Richman and The Modern Lovers.

Danny Fields was, after a short stint as a technical assistant in Andy Warhol's Factory, from 1966 Employee of Elektra Records, where he worked with The Doors, Arthur Lee and Love. Later he moved to Atlantic Records. Besides, he also appeared as publisher of 16 magazines and worked as a columnist for the SoHo Weekly News. From 1968 to 1969 he hosted for two days a week to a radio broadcast at that time still young station WFMU in New Jersey.

In recent years, Fields has remained mainly through publications on the history of rock music and documentaries about musicians ( Nico, Ramones, Jeff Buckley ) in memory.
