Danny Shittu

Daniel Olusola " Danny" Shittu (born 2 September 1980 in Lagos) is a Nigerian football player. The center-back has since August 2012 at FC Millwall under contract and participated in the World Cup 2010.

Club career

Shittu came as a young man from Nigeria to London and visited after leaving school the Hammersmith College. The decision to pursue a professional career as a footballer he felled late and joined for this reason, the junior team of Carshalton Athletic on. After several unsuccessful tryouts him from Charlton Athletic a professional contract was offered. In early 2001 he was awarded for the second half of the fourth division FC Blackpool and reached with the team's ascent playoffs. The successful playoff games against Hartlepool United and Leyton Orient Shittu could no longer participate himself, because his loan contract previously expired.

In October 2001, he was awarded to the third division side Queens Park Rangers. Despite two dismissals during his loan period the West London club signed him during the winter break for £ 350,000. In autumn 2010, Shittu moved to FC Millwall in the Football League Championship, after he had terminated his contract in Bolton. On 27 January 2011 he moved to the Queens Park Rangers in the Football League Championship 2010/11 and was given a contract until the end of the season.

National

Shittu was 2002, his debut in the Nigerian national team in a friendly match in London discharged against Paraguay. He came on as a substitute to a 20 - minute appearance at the stadium of his former employer QPR. It was not until 2007, when Berti Vogts took over as coach of the Super Eagles, Shittu was re-convened and was in the period following the solid player base. In 2010, Shittu was in Nigeria's squad for the World Cup in South Africa and came in all three games for use.
