Dantebad

The Dantebad is an outdoor pool in Gern district of Munich in the district of Neuhausen- Nymphenburg. It is located right next to the stadium at the Dante Dante street named after Dante Alighieri.

In the summer, it offers several swimming pools, including a competition- compatible 50 -meter pool, a sauna area and a nudist area. In winter, the Dantebad is a Warmfreibad: the 50m pool in the stadium area is then heated to about 30 degrees. There is a spa area with centrifugal flow and water massage.

At the entrance to the swimming pool there is a fitness room with about a dozen training equipment whose use is included in the admission price. In the sauna, the use of the swimming pool and the fitness room is included.

Holdings is the pool of Stadtwerke München.

History

1913, the urban Dantebad was opened as a men only. With the addition of a women 's and girls' field 1920, it was accessible for all Munich. At the 1972 Summer Olympics took place here the competitions held in water polo.

1999/2000 and 2007/2008, Dantebad was restored and rebuilt on a large scale. 2000 it obtained a wellness area with whirlpool and Jacuzzi in the stadium area. The summer plants were redesigned in 2008, with the historic trees remained largely intact. The water surface was reduced to a pool, but a children's play area has been created.
