Darius Gvildys

Darius Gvildys ( born December 26, 1970 in Kaunas) is a Lithuanian football coach and former player. He is currently the coach of Sūduva Marijampolė.

Playing career

Darius Gvildys played an active footballer initially for Banga Kaunas and was also the 1993 team as you look renamed FBK Kaunas and the first time participated in the Professional League A Lyga. For years, the defender played for the club, but could not generate any appreciable success with Kaunas. Ironically, during the two years in Russia to Lokomotiv Nizhny Novgorod and Tula Arsenal reach Kaunas then the first championships. But Gvildys remained success is not denied, as he returned in 2001 to his former club and by 2004 won the championship twice and once to the national cup there. Before 2004 his team won the double again, however, he left the club and moved to Liepaja Metalurgs to Latvia. However, already at the end of the year he returned to his home, leaving his career at Sūduva Marijampolė finish.

National

For the Lithuanian national football team played Darius Gvildys 1996-1999 in eleven games.

Coaching career

Since 2012 Gvildys works as manager of Sūduva Marijampolė.
