Cover

Just like DARKTHRONE record covers of the 1990s, the compilation shows a black-and- white shot of a band member in nature, in this case Fenriz with corpse paint and a grim expression in a kneeling pose. According to the label on the cover is so " minimalist in the true spirit of Darkthrone ".

Style

Up to Cromlech and Green Cave Float all tracks from the classic black metal era of the band come from. The bands essentially retain the structure of the respective Originals at, but not copy it, but adapt it to their style. Vocally particularly Thorns ' version of The Pagan Winter is different from the original, as a vocoder was used and dispensed Screaming. While most items are produced better than the originals, Gorgoroths Slottet i det fjerne is accompanied as feedback from some noise.

Reviews

Both the idiosyncratic interpretations, particularly those of The Pagan Winter, as well as more faithful pieces Natassja in Eternal Sleep recorded mixed. The Metal Observer described the tribute album as average, because it did not respect the original spirit.
