Darragh O'Brien

Darragh O'Brien ( born July 8, 1974 in Malahide, County Fingal ) is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician.

O'Brien grew up in Malahide. He attended Pope John Paul's National School and the Malahide Community School. Later he was active in the financial sector, including serving as President of the Chamber of Commerce of County Fingal ( Fingal Chamber of Commerce).

In June 2007, he was elected in the constituency of Dublin North for Fianna Fáil in the 30th Dáil Éireann. In the next elections in February 2011, however, he lost his seat again. In early March O'Brien was nominated by the Taoiseach Brian Cowen in Seanad Éireann 23. He occupied the vacant seat so by Ciarán Cannon new. This was namely elected in February in the 31st Dáil Éireann

O'Brien is married and has one daughter.
