Darryl Hunt (musician)

Darryl Hunt ( born May 4, 1950 in Hampshire, England) is an English musician, known for his involvement in the Irish- English folk - punk band The Pogues from 1986 until its dissolution 10 years later. Currently, he leads the band " Bish " and occurs regularly again since 2001 with the Pogues on.

Life

Hunt attended the " Nottingham Trent University School of Art and Design", where he played in a jazz band before he moved to the " Brothel Creepers ", a band that was formed for a student film in 1973. When they moved to London, they named themselves into Plummet Airlines and transformed themselves into a fairly well-known Pub rock band. One of her first works was published directly by Stiff Records and landed on " Hits Greatest Stiffs ". Plummet Airlines broke up in 1977. Hunt then founded the group " Pride of the Cross", with the future Pogues bassist Cait O'Riordan. Shortly after O'Riordan left the band to play at the Pogues, and Hunt took a job with them, but the time being limited to organizational matters. Later he replaced O'Riordan in some performances, in order to eventually completely replace the end of 1986, after it has left the band to his King of America with her husband Elvis Costello - to cover tour. Hunt was involved in all subsequent albums, the Pogues and even wrote a few songs, including " Love You Till The End " from the album Pogue Mahone.

After the dissolution in 1996 Hunt worked as a DJ in Europe and played in some projects as a guest players, including an appearance with the founded by his former companions Spider Stacy band "The Vendetta ". Hunt joined again " Bish ", which in 2001 released a new album. Since 2001, Hunt plays back regularly with the Pogues. In 2009 he published with " Bish " the second album "Surrounded By Mountains ".
