Dassault Systèmes
Dassault Systèmes (DS ) is a French software development company for Product Lifecycle Management ( PLM ) solutions. On June 5, 1981, was established as a separate subsidiary of the company Dassault Aviation. Dassault Systèmes is a developer of CATIA, a CAD / CAM application, and belongs to Groupe Dassault.
Throughout the company's history other software systems from other areas of industrial use of software have been added to the product portfolio of Dassault Systemes. From this, the company has developed the following brands:
- 3DVIA for the creation of interactive 3D content
- CATIA for integrated product design as 3D-CAD/CAM-Software
- DELMIA as a solution for digital production planning, simulation and planning security
- ENOVIA PDM system
- Exalead for data search and search-based applications
- Netvibes as your home page services ( acquisition on February 9, 2012)
- SIMULIA as a platform for FEM simulations (eg Abaqus )
- SolidWorks for 3D mechanical design
- Dymola for interdisciplinary model simulation based on the modeling language Modelica
The distribution of the solutions by Dassault Systèmes has long been carried out exclusively by IBM with its partners. Since 2005, DS has its own distribution network. 2010 took over the Dassault Systemes product lifecycle management business of IBM. In Germany DS since 2005 with its own organization active in the market, the Dassault Systemes Germany GmbH, headquartered in Stuttgart.
2006 expanded its range of solutions from Dassault Systemes to eleven industries. The target groups within sectors extended DS successively: the corporate vision " 3D for all" developed according to Dassault Systèmes 3D applications for all of the product development stakeholders - from designers, design engineers to marketing, sales and service staff. In future, the company would also allow the end user of the products, to participate on 3D applications in online communities on the product development.
The CAD software DraftSight, an AutoCAD Clone is also marketed by Dassault Systèmes.
Dassault Systèmes serves more than 115,000 customers in 80 countries.
