Data cable

As a data line, a physical transmission medium such as a cable, wire or fiber-optic cables or the connection is referred to as such, between a sender and receiver of information and communication technology. Using this connection information is transmitted (data) only, which are further processed. Via a data line, a bidirectional communication is possible in most cases, that is, the transmitter to receiver and vice versa. With microcontrollers often occur only unidirectional data lines. As an example, such as the Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) known, the ever has a unidirectional data line for transmission and reception direction.

The term data line is also used in integrated circuits (ICs ).
