Datel

Datel (previously Datel Electronics also ) is a British company for computer and electronics products, which was particularly well known for their wide range of hardware products and accessories for home computers in the 1980s.

These included, for example, a replacement keyboard for the home computer Sinclair ZX Spectrum, the PlusD disk interface and the Action Replay system.

Owner of the company Datel is the Briton Mike Connors - not to be confused with the U.S. actor Mike Connors.

Datel is in her " reverse engineering " process to date gadgets and accessories for the most popular gaming consoles. It always comes back to court battle with the platform owners Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. These are of the opinion that certain accessories - eg controller & memory card - must be officially licensed by them.

This ensures on the one hand, the security of the platform and is also a source of revenue for the platform owner.

In November 2009, Microsoft released an update for its Xbox 360 to eliminate the use of the much cheaper and equipped with much higher capacity Max Memory memory cards.

Even after a further update in April 2010, it is not possible with official memory cards or USB sticks, to speak more than 10 GB of memory.

A new revision of the Datel memory cards makes it possible again since January 2010, in 512 MB split blocks to raise a total of up to 16GB and share them with the PC via microSD cards.
