Datsakorn Thonglao
Datsakorn Thonglao ( Thai: ดัสกร ทอง เหลา, born December 30, 1983 in the province Nongbua Lamphu ) is a Thai football player and captain of the Thai national team. He plays in midfield preferred and usually acts as a playmaker. Since 2010 he is at Muang Thong United in the Thai Premier League under contract.
Career
His active career began at FC Datsakorn Raj Pracha. In 2001 he moved to BEC Tero Sasana, and was the club champion of the Thai Premier League. It was his first major title. In addition to winning the championship, he was twice runner-up with BEC Tero. In 2003 he reached the final of the team's AFC Champions League. In both games of the Finals, he was chosen. At the end they lost by return game the Al Ain Club. For a then-record sum of $ 80,000 Datsakorn moved in 2007 to Vietnam. He signed a three -year contract with Hoàng Anh Gia Lai. A title he won not yet with his new club. Since autumn 2009, the speculation about a possible move back to Thailand grew. Datsakorn, however, had now signed a new contract with his club Hoàng Anh Gia Lai and two more years under contract. Muang Thong United struggled early retrieve the playmaker to Thailand. The change was also completed in January 2010. Datsakorn made his employer clear that he wants to return to Thailand. This then called for U.S. $ 200,000. Exactly the sum which Datsakorn had previously received as earnest money for his re- signing. Whether his new club had the sum actually paid, is not known. But he might be the most expensive player in the Southeast Asian region in any case.
By winning the championship of Muang Thong United, in 2009, the club was entitled to qualifying for the AFC Champions League to participate in 2010. For both games in qualifying Datsakorn was not eligible to play. The registration period ended on 30 January 2009.
The international career began today's captain in 2001. Already in the first year of his appointment to the U-23 national team he won the 2001 and the gold medal at the Southeast Asian Games. Two years later he was able to repeat the success with the team. In his previous participation in the ASEAN Football Championships in 2007 and 2008 it reached only to second place. Datsakorn took both 2004 and 2007 at the finals of the AFC Asian Cup finals. However, he was able to achieve a goal.
