Dave Kelly (musician)

David "Dave" Kelly ( born March 13, 1947 in Streatham, Greater London, England ) is a British blues singer, guitarist and composer who helped shape the British blues scene since the 1960s.

Biography

Through his sister Jo Ann Kelly (1944-1990), with whom he later participated in numerous musical projects, the rock and roll fan Dave Kelly came to the Blues. The mid-1960s he became a member of the John Dummer Blues Band, in the late 1960s the group Tramp. In 1979, finally, was a collaboration with Paul Jones on the album " Willing " the Blues Band with Dave Kelly as a guitarist and singer.

In addition to his commitments with the blues band, he recorded solo albums, toured with his own " Dave Kelly Band" as well as an acoustic duo with Paul Jones. Dave Kelly wrote music for several film and television productions and commercials.

Over time, he has performed with blues greats like Muddy Waters, Howlin 'Wolf and John Lee Hooker. He was elected in the BBC polls repeatedly for best acoustic artists.
