David Davidson (politician)

David Davidson ( born January 25, 1943 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish politician and member of the Conservative Party.

Davidson attended Trinity Academy in Edinburgh and then studied pharmacy at the Heriot -Watt University. After visiting the Manchester Business School, he worked in the pharmaceutical field.

Political career

1995 Davidson was elected to the city council of Stirling. He first joined the first Scottish Parliament elections in 1999 elections at the national level. In his constituency Banff and Buchan, he received the second highest number of votes after the SNP politician and later First Minister Alex Salmond. Since Davidson, however, was placed on the first rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Conservative Party for choosing North East Scotland, he moved as a result of the election result as one of seven representatives from the selection region in the newly created Scottish parliament. Davidson was appointed deputy party spokesman for the Economy, Industry and Finance. In the following general election in 2003 he applied for the mandate of the constituency of West Aberdeenshire and Kincardine. Again, Davidson only received the second largest share of the vote, this time behind the Liberal Democrat Mike Rumbles, however, defended its mandate for North East Scotland. From May 2003 to January 2005 he was party spokesman on health policy issues, then for traffic. In the 2007 parliamentary elections Davidson candidate in the constituency of Aberdeen South and received the fourth highest number of votes. Since Davidson was placed on these elections only on the third rank of the Regional Evaluation of the Conservatives, the party in this election region as a result of the election result but could send only two candidates, Davidson lost his seat and resigned from parliament from.
