David Fiegen

David Fiegen ( born September 3, 1984 in Esch- sur -Alzette ) is a Luxembourgian middle-distance runner.

Already in the junior area of ​​the 800 - meter runner drew attention to himself in third place at the Junior World Championships in 2002 and second in the European Junior Championships in 2003. At the World Athletics Championships 2003 in Paris / Saint- Denis and at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the flow.

In 2006 he achieved his biggest success. He won at the European Championships 2006 in Gothenburg silver behind Bram Som (NED ). This was the first Luxembourg European Championship medal in athletics at all.

Luxembourg is the only track and field athlete, he was nominated for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, but had to withdraw due to a viral infection in the short term.

David Fiegen is 1,87 m tall and weighs 73 kg.
