David Fullerton

David Fullerton (* October 4, 1772 in Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania, † February 1, 1843 ) was an American politician. In the years 1819 and 1820, he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

David Fullerton was the uncle of Congressman David Fullerton Robison ( 1816-1859 ). He attended the common schools. During the British - American War of 1812 he was a Major in the American armed forces. In his home he worked in trading and banking industry. Politically, he was a member of the late 1790s, founded by later U.S. President Thomas Jefferson Democratic- Republican Party.

In the congressional elections of 1818 Fullerton was in the fifth electoral district of Pennsylvania in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of William Maclay on March 4, 1819. This mandate he held until his resignation on 15 May 1820. After his time in the U.S. House of Representatives Fullerton was again involved in trade and in the banking industry. Between 1827 and 1839 he sat in the Senate of Pennsylvania. He died on 1 February 1843 in Greencastle, where he was also buried.
