David García de la Cruz

David García de la Cruz ( born January 16, 1981 in Manresa ) is a Spanish footballer who plays for FC Girona in the Spanish Segunda División.

David García is one of the many players who have made it over the youth of Espanyol in professional football. After Raúl Tamudo he served as the third captain and also after Tamudo he was the second longest serving player at the small club from Barcelona.

For his club loyalty David García was rewarded by winning the Copa del Rey in 2000 and 2006. His contract was for the time being until June 2009 but it was extended for two more seasons.

For the season 2011/12 he left his longtime club and moved to second division side FC Girona.
