David Kahn (sports executive)

David Kahn ( b. 1961 ) is a former general manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association and a former sports journalist.

Career

Kahn comes from Portland and attended the University of California, Los Angeles ( UCLA short ). From 1983 to 1989 he worked as a journalist for The Oregonian, where he was much occupied with regional and national sports.

In the NBA, he worked from 1995 to 2004 for the Indiana Pacers, before he became the successor of Kevin McHale, Office of the General Manager of the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2009. When NBA Draft 2009, he selected in the first round three point guards and was trading the third, Ty Lawson to Denver. In May 2013 he was released by the Minnesota Timberwolves from his position as general manager.
