David L. Paterson

David Lord Paterson (born 1966 ) is an American screenwriter, actor and film producer.

Life

When Paterson was a boy who was his best friend, an eight year old girl named Lisa Hill, struck by lightning and died. His mother, the author Katherine Paterson, took this experience as the basis of her children's book Bridge to Terabithia. David Paterson produced the film adaptation of the children's book, which came out in 2007, and wrote the screenplay.

He graduated in 1989 with a BA from the Catholic University of America. Paterson held on 1 February 2007 special advance screenings of The Bridge to Terabithia for members of the CUA community at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland.
