David Landes

David S. Landes ( born April 29, 1924 in New York as David Saul country; † August 17, 2013 in Haverford, Pennsylvania) was an American economic historian.

Life

David S. Landes, born in 1924 in New York City, was professor emeritus of economics at Harvard University and retired professor of history at George Washington University. In 1953 he received his doctorate at Harvard University for Ph. D..

In 2004 he received the Leonardo da Vinci Medal.

He died on August 17, 2013 at the age of 89 years.
