David Robertson (baseball)

David Alan Robertson ( born April 9, 1985 in Birmingham, Alabama) is an American baseball player in the major leagues. He currently plays as a relief pitcher for the New York Yankees.

Career

Robertson played from 2005 in the college team from the University of Alabama. In MLB Draft 2006, he was chosen by the New York Yankees in the 17th round. In 2007, he pitched in the Yankees farm system in the Minor League. On 28 June 2008 he was appointed to the Major League. With an ERA of 6:31, he was sent back to Triple -A team Scranton / Wilkes -Barre Yankees on August 28, 2008. On 13 September 2008 he returned to the Yankees. The 2009 season Robertson began again in Scranton / Wilkes - Barre. After an injury of Xavier Nady, he was called on 16 April 2009 back to the Yankees, only to return again the next day for Triple -A team, to make room for Juan Miranda on the roster the Yankees. On 25 May 2009 he returned to the Yankees to replace relief pitcher Brian Bruney. In the play-offs, he contributed greatly to the success of the Yankees: In a game in the ALDS and another game in the ALCS, he came on as several runners from the opposing team were on base. In both cases, he was able to end the inning without allowing a run.

In the 2010 season, Robertson again comes as a relief pitcher in the later innings for use.
