David Torosyan

David Torosyan (Armenian: Դավիթ Թորոսյան; born September 23, 1950 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is a former Soviet boxer.

Torosyan was bronze medalist of the World Championships in 1974 in Havana. In the semifinals he was defeated by Cuban Luis Jorge Romero. Something similar happened to him at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal. Here he struck first Hassen Sheriff, Ethiopia ( where), Giovanni Camputaro, Italy ( RSC 2 ), and Ung Jo Jong, North Korea ( 5:0 ) before he, by disqualification in the second round against Ramon Duvalon, Cuba in the semifinals eliminated.

After his boxing career was Torosyan coach in Armenia. Later he emigrated to the U.S. and opened a gym in Glendale. Here he trained, among others the Olympian Vanes Martirosyan.
