David Torrance (politician)

David Torrance ( born March 13, 1961 in Kirkcaldy ) is a Scottish politician and member of the Scottish National Party.

Torrance visited the Balwearie High School and the Adam Smith College, which he left with a degree in engineering. Since 1981 he has been a member of the SNP and was elected in 1995 to a council member of Fife. For the Scottish Parliament elections in 2011 Torrance ran as candidate of the SNP in the constituency of Kirkcaldy. Here, he could just against the candidate of the Labour Party, Marilyn Livingstone, enforce, who represented the constituency since 1999, and retired for the first time in the Scottish Parliament.
