Dawid Tomaszewski

Dawid Tomaszewski ( born November 21, 1979 in Gdansk, Poland ) is a Polish- German fashion designers and designer based in Berlin. He is the founder of the eponymous fashion label, which has its headquarters in Berlin. His fashion is pure and extravagant, with attention to detail. The inspiration for his avant-garde designs the designer relates from his passion for art, architecture and music.

Career

Dawid Tomaszewski studied from 1999 to 2001 at the London College of Fashion, and from 2001 to 2004 at the Academy of Arts in Berlin under Vivienne Westwood. He also studied art history at the University of Fine Arts in Poznan.

2000 he worked for Sonia Rykiel in Florence and 2003 for Alexis Mabille in Paris.

In 2008 he took part in the ProSieben show, The Next Fashion Talent. In the same year he created a Special Collection for Reebok. He, too, was one of the selected designers who designed bags for Design Hotels. These were presented at London Fashion Week. He also designed a charity T- shirt for Hallhuber.

In 2009 he was a design assistant of Rei Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons in Tokyo. At the same time Dawid Tomaszewski started a close collaboration with the artist and photographer Michal Martychowiec. In addition to joint exhibitions photographed all of these campaigns and collections of Tomaszewski.

After his return from Tokyo Tomaszewski founded in 2009 his own label. Already with his first collection, he was so successful that Vogue, Elle, Vanity Fair and other magazines reported on it. Since then, he regularly presents its new collections, such as the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Berlin. Celebrities such as Iris Berben, Bettina Zimmermann, Eva Padberg and Karolina Kurkova wearing his New Couture. In 2012 he was included in the VOGUE Salon.
