London College of Fashion

The London College of Fashion ( LCF), as the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, a prestigious college of the University of the Arts London. It offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in fashion design and related arts, and is the only college in the UK, the training, research and consulting company serving the fashion industry.

History

The college was formed by the merger of the " Shoreditch Technical Institute Girls School " and the " Bartlett St and Clapham Trade School ", which were established in 1906 by the London County Council, to train young women to dressmakers, milliners, hairdressers and embroidering.

Current Principal is Dr. Frances Corner. Its predecessor, Sandra Holtby, was awarded an OBE in 2006.

Building

The main building at the John Prince's Street is located in central London, close to Oxford Street. In the building at the Davies Street, near Bond Street, the lessons take place in photography and marketing. The house at Lime Grove hosts special equipment for instruction in knitting, embroidery and marker making. In East London, there are three buildings for shoemaking and basic courses. A center for arts and crafts is located in the Barbican Centre.
